Jessica Hemmings
É professora de Craft e Vice-Prefekt of Research na HDK-Valand, University of Gothenburg, Suécia. Estudou Design Têxtil na Rhode Island School of Design, concluindo o BFA (Honors) em 1999 em Comparative Literature (África/Ásia) na University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies, tendo concluído o MA (Distinction) em 2000. O seu PhD, atribuído pela University of Edinburgh em 2006, foi publicado por Kalliope Paperbacks sob o título Yvonne Vera: The Voice of Cloth (2008). Editou, em 2010, uma coleção de ensaios com o título In the Loop: Knitting Now, publicados por Black Dog e, em 2012, The Textile Reader (Berg) e escreveu Warp & Weft (Bloomsbury). O projeto editorial e curatorial Cultural Threads: Transnational Textiles Today é um livro sobre a escrita pós-colonial e a prática têxtil contemporânea (Bloomsbury: 2015), que foi acompanhado pela exposição itinerante Migrations (2015-2017).
