Drawing on FAHR 021.3's working archive, Blatt – Morphologies of Disorder offers a reflection on the processes, references and methodologies that have shaped the studio's practice over the past decade. More than a retrospective, the book seeks to reveal what remains open: process, deviation, overlap, transformation, and the tensions between form, context and critical thinking.

If, in these photographs, in their succession and articulation, we perceive a phrasing, we begin to under-stand what the metaphor of legibility means and inscribe ourselves within a respectable history of “reading” the “text of the city” and the “urban sentence”.

This audacious method is justified because questions of urbanism and architecture run through this book and intersect with art. It is this distinctive trinity — architecture, urbanism, art — that these photographic images invite us to think through, for although they are representations of artistic works and interventions, of projects and of the entire process surrounding them, they are also “images of thought”, to use a concept by Walter Benjamin.
